Apple unveils the M1, the first Silicon Chip
In June, Apple said that Apple Silicon chipset powering the new Mac would be coming by the end of 2020. After a long wait, the company has finally announced it’s new M1 chipset along with a new Mac lineup. As we predicted in our previous article, Apple launched it’s new ARM based chip with new Macs and macOS BigSur.
M1 is the first member of Apple Silicon, based on 5nm architecture, with 16 billion transistors. It is one of the powerful chips along with low power consumption and high efficiency.
M1 is an octa-core processor with 4 High-Performance Core and 4 High-Efficiency Core. This makes M1 the World’s Fastest CPU Core along with World’s best CPU performance per watt.
You will also get 8-core integrated GPU on M1, which is the World’s Fastest Integrated Graphics. Not only that, it is also capable of running 25,000 threads simultaneously.
M1 comes with a 16-core Neural Engine, which will enhance the ML on the device. It means that game developer, Video editor and many more will be having a smooth experience while working.
M1 chip outplays in nearly every field, whether it be day-to-day browsing, video editing, or it is developing an intense game on unity. With Apple’s chip, they successfully upgraded the new Mac lineup with some exceptional improvements in terms of performance.
