Changes which you might haven’t noticed on Youtube India in 2020

This year we have seen Youtube India making tons of changes in the Youtube app. Some were noticeable to the users, and some weren’t. Let us take a look at all the changes which took place in the year 2020 Youtube app.

Reducing the streaming quality:

After the Coronavirus outbreak, the Government of each country declared lockdown. As people were staying at home and it was a quarantine, they were dependent on the internet to cut their boredom.

Youtube is one of the platforms where one is having vast choices of videos they can watch. After the lockdown, everyone started using Youtube at a higher rate, which led to a strain on broadband services.
To lessen the burden, Youtube decided to reduce the quality of streaming services to 480p.

Removal of Live section from Youtube Gaming in India:

A few days back, in the Youtube Gaming India, the “live section” was removed. In the Youtube app, in the explore section, we have a Gaming option. When you click on it and select a game, you would not be able to find the Live option. “Sikh Warrior” and “Xyaa” mentioned about this issue for the first time.
Sikh Warrior claimed that “Youtube India is not Letting LIVE STREAMERS grow.”

Use of Indian Numbering System for Views and Subscriber Counts:

When Youtube India replaced Millions by Lacs and Crores, most of the users started opposing to this issue. This change has not been reverted and is just available on the Youtube App. On the web, the numbers are as per the International System.

Removal of “Watch Later” and “Share” Overlay on video:

Recently we noticed that the overlay buttons which were present on the top right corner of the videos were missing.
I am sure you might not have seen this thing. Here are the screenshots.

Introduction of a new type of video timer:

We usually read the Youtube video timer as Time Passed/Total Time. Now when we tap on the timer, you will find a new timer reading, i.e., Time Left/Total Time. In 2020, this was another feature that was introduced by Youtube, and you might have missed to notice it too.
